Skin Tightening

Both men and women can reduce the aging effect of loose or sagging skin in the face and neck areas. Skin tightening is also popular among women who wish to tighten the loose abdominal skin resulting from pregnancy or weight loss. Others appreciate tightening up loose skin on aging arms and thighs.

How does Skin Tightening work?

The infra-red light pulses create little “islands” of deep heated tissue, causing the soft tissue in the deeper layers of skin to coagulate, while leaving the outer layer of skin intact. The body’s natural response is to generate new tissue in the deeper layers which will have better elasticity. The result is a reduction in the laxity of the skin and a tighter, smoother appearance.

What can I expect during the procedure?

The procedure is quick and easy and safe for all skin types. Unique technology cools and protects the skin during treatment. You will feel the warmth of the infra-red light as it is absorbed by your skin tissue. The intensity can be adjusted to meet your comfort threshold.

What can I expect after the procedure?

Generally you can return to work or other activity immediately following treatment without any recovery time. Most people experience a lingering warmth, tightness, or mild redness in the treated area which fades in a few hours.

Most patients see noticeable results immediately following treatment with increasing results over the next few weeks. Optimum results of tighter, smoother skin may require a series of several treatments at 4-6 week intervals.
